Certified Yoga Instructor
Katie Niewodowski is an artist and yogi who hails from the Gulf Coast of Florida. She became a certified Bikram Yoga Instructor in 2008 and in 2010 she attended Baron Baptiste’s Teacher Training in New York. In 2010 she opened SunMoon Yoga studio in Jersey City, which she ran successfully for 7 years. Currently, she enjoys the rewards of teaching private yoga and art classes as well as being a professor of Visual Arts at Montclair State University, Seton Hall University, Rhode Island School of Design, and Hudson County Community College. Her vinyasa classes are an extension of her artistic vision with creative sequencing which will challenge you while allowing you to surrender to the flow. Her calming voice gives you the space to dive deep into your own experience during a Bikram class with helpful cues to keep your mind and body connected to the present. Both her yoga and art practices are meditations on the interconnectedness of all life and the harmony that can be experienced when consciously tapping into that Great Balance. Yoga centered and grounded her in a way she had never before known. After classes she would feel fully in her body and it was the most revelatory and profound experience. She said to herself that if it still “worked” after a year, she would go to training so that she could share this amazing and transformational practice with others. Her favorite thing about practicing toga is getting out of her own head and instead comfortably and peacefully into her body. She also has two little chihuahuas at home!
